Today, a memorial service was held at the Baykobe Crematorium in Kyiv for Lana "Sati" Chornohorska, a female soldier of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army.
She was killed in a Russian drone strike on the southern Ukrainian front on New Year's Day 2026.
She worked as a soldier, drone pilot, artist, journalist, and social activist.
Born in Zaporizhzhia, she studied in Dnipro and worked for the Kharkiv media outlet Liuk.
When Russia's all-out invasion of Ukraine began in 2022, she volunteered to defend her homeland.
She joined the Udachnyky unit of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army in 2024 and served in its mission.
